Finaly Singer Dave Wang hints at retirement
Veteran singer Dave Wang has hinted that he may retire after his latest concert tour and promised that the tour will showcase his old works in their original form, reported Chinese media.
Speaking to reporters at a recent publicity event in Beijing, China, Wang commented that many singers nowadays tend to embellish or modify their older works too much.
He said that his upcoming concert tour, which will see him performing in countries like China, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, would buck the trend.
Wang explained that they will feature his "classic songs like 'A Game, A Dream' and 'Do I Really Have Nothing' completely unchanged from before".
"Recently during rehearsals, I have been wielding a whip against members of the band to make sure they don't change the musical arrangement," joked Wang.
"I guarantee that these classics will be presented in their original form."
Wang also pointed out that he will not be wearing any special costumes for concert tour and will simply focus on his singing.
Before concluding the event, Wang, who claimed he was "over the hill", hinted that he might call it quits and retire from the entertainment scene after the concert tour.
"After I finish this concert tour, I hope my fans will allow me to walk away and disappear," said the 47-year-old crooner.
He also remarked cryptically that people who attend his latest concert tour should hang on to their ticket stubs and added that all will be revealed when he completes his tour.
