Jay Chou's Songs Rejected By WHO?

With a mentor like Jacky Wu, veteran entertainer, it is no wonder that Jay Chou managed to gain mainstream success, although Wu blurted out at a recent recording session for a variety show about Chou's nasty setbacks during his early years in showbiz, according to Channel News Asia.
Wu revealed that before Chou gained popularity, he wrote songs for a number of artistes, such as "Black Humour" and "Nunchucks", which were rejected. The former was rejected by now-defunct Taiwan pop group SBDW and the latter by none other than Taiwan pop diva A-Mei.
However, both songs are now Chou's hits.
In addition, Chou has also faced rejection from Hong Kong Heavenly King himself, Andy Lau, who rejected some songs Chou had written for him, and even went so far as to complain to Wu about the matter, on the basis that they were not his style.
"He [Lau] once told me, 'Why did you get a youngster to write songs for me? How am I going to sing them?'" said Wu.
Wu also let loose that Chou is one to hold a grudge.
"This Chou guy really knows how to hold a grudge! So Andy Lau will never be able to sing a song written by Jay Chou in this lifetime."
It was not long after that Wu regretted spilling the beans on Chou's past and asked the producers not to air that sequence, leaving his guest audiences with bewildered looks on their faces.
Unfortunately for Wu, the show's production team refused to edit the sequence out.
