After two sold-out performances in 2008, Taiwanese pop diva, Chang Huimei (张惠妹), better known as A*mei (阿妹), unleashes her new concert, AMIT Live First World Tour at the Singapore Indoor Stadium! A*mei, who has no less than 15 albums and countless awards under her name, has come a long way from singing along with the radio. Of aborigines descent, A*mei titled her new album, and the new world tour after her aboriginal name, Gulilai Amit (古历来. 阿密特) to signify a total completeness of her journey in the industry from her debut album to her latest release. The pop sensation wants to show the darker and repressed side of her personality as well as to establish that she is more than just ballads.
If her controversy-ridden and masochistic and sexually themed video, Hei Chi Hei (黑吃黑), which is banned in her native country, is anything to go by, fans and concert goers can expect to experience a very different presentation of her stage prowess and illuminating presence in this concert.
